St. Alphonsus 3rd Floor Neuro ICU Renovation

< Back to Portfolio

This 36,000 SF renovation project is a complete demolition and build-back of the neurological trauma ICU and step-down units on the 3rd floor patient tower at the St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise.

The neurological unit is located above surgery suites including 24 hr trauma surgery suite, surgery prep and recovery patient rooms, overnight patient rooms, doctors’ offices, staff locker rooms, critical mechanical space and the hospital’s kitchen/cafeteria, which has made site logistics, scheduled shutdowns, and work hours critical to the execution of the project. The majority of 2nd floor work has been completed off hour shifts.

The 成人视频 team has developed several unique plans to minimize patient interaction and operational impact to St. Al’s including building a suspended platform off the side of the building for trade partner entry/exit and material and waste handling via tower crane. 成人视频 staff are in daily communication with St. Alphonsus MAC center to coordinate crane positioning with incoming life flight helicopters.  Additionally, the team-built headwall mockups for the hospital team to review prior to building out 17 stepdown patient rooms. The 18 ICU rooms utilize a cutting edge design with med booms in lieu of headwalls.  The patients are oriented with head facing middle of the room to enable 360 degree mobile scan of patients without having to move patient bed.

The project also includes a rooftop patient corridor connecting the Neuro ICU in the south tower to the existing ICU in the central tower. Additionally the 成人视频 team completed two hospital entrance remodels concurrently.
